 Forth Valley Open Studios

Forth Valley Open Studios 2010The first ever Forth Valley Open Studios event takes place this June  from 12-20th  when over 100 artists from Killin to Bo’ness will be throwing open their doors to invite members of the public in.

This remarkable celebration of creativity will take place in a variety of venues many of them temporary.  They range from purpose built studios to front rooms in peoples homes, village halls to a marquee , and even an upstairs room in a pub.

They range from the modest –a hired portakabin to the grand – a church as well as galleries promoting Forth Valley artists.

Lys Hansen, international asrtist based in Blairlogie and chair of Forth Valley Open Studios says:

“You are invited to share the experience of the artist, invited into that special arena – the studio – where artists and makers develop their creativity. You are being offered privileged access to the creative process and to the artists in the place where it happens and where they work, a place usually closed and private.

I hope that you will seize the chance to explore, to meet artists and makers in their studios and where they exhibit, and relish your experiences during these nine days.

Forth Valley Open Studios 2010 is a non-profit event organised by a committee of enthusiastic and competent volunteers drawn from busy artists across the (loosely interpreted) Forth Valley. They have been helped by generous support and advice from their fellow-artist precursors in Perthshire Open Studios, whom I thank very warmly.”
